20 Resources To Make You Better At Item Upgrades

World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

The upgrade feature for items allows players to upgrade their existing equipment. This can be done at any item upgrader NPC.

Upgrades increase the main stat of an item, and can also add extras depending on its type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs, or Goldwrap for casting builds.

Armour

Armour is one of the main factors that keep Link protected from injury in most situations. Although it cannot be upgraded like weapons, you can still enhance its defense capabilities in different ways.

Armour is designed to protect animals or people from injury or harm from direct physical attack or a range of activity or environmental hazards. Historically, most armour was made from leather or fabric, but metal protections were also used in military applications, particularly such as heavy cavalry and combat drones.

Like weapons there are a myriad of ways in which armor can be upgraded but the majority of them require visiting one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain comes with its own level of upgrades available with higher levels of upgrades granting higher levels of protection and requiring a higher cost in rupees and the materials needed to unlock.

The first thing to remember about Armor Upgrades is that they are upgrades that last forever, meaning that once they've been applied they are not able to be replaced unless you own another piece of equipment that comes with the same upgrade. It is important that you only apply the highest level of upgrades to your equipment and that you have the materials needed to complete them.

You will find the upgrades you need in many locations throughout Hyrule. These include shrines, merchants, and even enemies. They'll usually be identified with a gold circle or a blue triangle symbol and will be available in large quantities as you advance through the game. They could appear randomly, but there is a possibility that getting certain upgrades will trigger a quest which will reward you with even more.

It's also worth noting that even though the amount of protection offered by each upgrade differs, it is the same across all upgrades and will always be superior to nothing. This is because a complete set of upgraded armor will grant you a high defense boost that protects you from all types of attacks except magic which makes it a very effective weapon for any class.

Weapons

You can upgrade your guns by using special upgrades that create a truly unique weapon. They can boost damage, change the weapon's stats in order to adapt to your build or even unlock new attachments, such as unique enchantments, ammo types and other options for aesthetics.

You'll need both the upgrade component as well as the weapon itself to upgrade it. The weapon must also be at a certain level for the upgrade to take effect and the majority of weapons can only accept one upgrade at one time.

You can find weapons upgrade components scattered across the globe and from enemies, or they can be bought from a merchant. Upgrade components are made up of ingredients that you are able to slot into weapons, armors, trinkets and gathering tools to earn an attribute bonus. They require equipment to be of a certain level to allow the upgrade. They can be upgraded in the same way as other items.

Upgrades are a mix of Smithing Stones (a type of stone) and Runes. They are used to improve the power of weapons and improve their effectiveness in comparison to other stats. They can be obtained from enemies who drop them in the open world, bought from certain merchants, or obtained from combat.

Two NPCs can upgrade your weapon: Blacksmith Hewg, in the Roundtable Hold hub zone and the Smithing Master Iji, in the Road to Manor hub zone. Both of these NPCs accept your Smithing Stones or Runes to upgrade your weapon.

It's crucial to prioritize upgrading your most-used items first, followed by items that you won't need to replace in the near future. If you're playing a melee build, for instance, upgrade your weapon first, then your shoulders and chest followed by your feet and hands. Similar principles apply to Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that some items may be better than others based on the style of play you prefer. Armour is no different, with some reforges better than others.

Magic Items

A character is able to upgrade only one magic item at one time. If an upgrade project has been canceled, no further upgrades will be planned for that item. Upgraded magic items cost twice the amount of gold to create or purchase, but they can have additional benefits.

A magical item is any item with special properties or effects. Most of these items are weapons, but there are some that are also armor, shields and cloaks, potions, scrolls, rings and other items. Some of these items are telepathic.

Most magic items can be upgraded so that they are equipped with additional capabilities. This makes them more useful to players, or could help them conquer a particularly challenging encounter. A weapon that contains some special substance could be able to provide extra damage against a certain kind of enemy. This is particularly useful for characters who have reached a level where they are likely to face one type of monster repeatedly in Dungeons.

A ring infused by magic could give immunity to non-magical attacks that bludgeon, pierce or cut (excluding attacks that are silvered) until the character gets another long rest. This is especially beneficial for melee martial characters or anyone who wants to get rid of the expense and hassle of buying a shield.

Some enchanted objects have special abilities that allow the character to cast spells that aren't in their list of classes. This can be useful for a character who has trouble keeping their spell slots full because of multiclassing. These magical objects require an Intelligence check (Arcana) and the spell is determined by rolling a table based on the number of Intelligence point expended.

Other enchanted objects might allow the character's appearance change, or they could even create a brand new one. These are particularly beneficial for characters who have had to leave their homes, or are in a place where they might not be welcome. A magical item may give them the ability to disappear or make them invisible for everyone except the chosen person.

Utility Items

Utility items are equipment that do not fall under the categories of Armor, Clothing or Weapons and have a range of different capabilities. Unlike Armor and Weapons, no one utility item is able to be in conflict with another. Most utility items come with a passive effect that players can activate while using them. However, some of them have additional abilities which are activated by pressing a button or activating the skill.

The Flashlight is the most commonly used accessory. It lights up the surrounding area. Other items of utility include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow the player to float in the air while moving and the Jetpack that allows players to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. Several utility items can be instantly manufactured in the Engineering section while others are unlockable through research projects or projects at the Proving Ground.

item upgrading  can unlock more powerful utility items in addition to the items that are available in their normal inventory by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Some of these items can be upgraded to make them more effective.

The majority of utility items provide the player with a navigational advantage or increase the effectiveness of a particular combat skill. For instance, Sharpening stones crafted by the Weaponsmith boost Ferocity and Power and Maintenance Oils made by the Huntsman increase Concentration and Healing Power. Other useful items, such as Writs and Theses crafted by the Scribe can be utilized to give the player an increase in Damage or Condition Damage.

XCOM soldiers can equip one accessory item to start the campaign. A second slot is available after the completion of certain research, engineering or experimental projects on the Proving Ground. In the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are added by equipping the Grenade Launcher, which allows the player to equip a Smoke Grenade or Bomb in an additional grenade slot while an offensive grenade is equipped in the main slot for grenades.
